Goodbye Blogger

Thanks for being my outlet for so many years.

Drawing Machine among other things

Delphine Amato of And Freedom For recently visited my studio and asked me some questions about my work. I got to talk about my new drawing machine among other things. Thanks Delphine!

Take a look.

P.S. I'll post a video in the not too distant future of the drawing machine in action. Its hard to tell whats really going on up there without some movement. It's essentially a quick way to make textures with a ballpoint pen that are normally very time intensive.

I'm testing out some graphite, charcoal pencil, and small amounts of color in new work as a way to
1. Loosen up & 2. Be able to work through more ideas in shorter amount of time. For some reason I work a lot quicker in graphite but was scared to try it for a while. I like how this test came out. It has the feeling I would like out of more work.

Big Love

This album might be my last minute favorite or 2012. Maybe I listened to Frank Ocean a little more but I got totally YouTubed out of Frank. I would like Matthew and Frank to get together on something. I think I've listened to this song more than Brazos, and Brozos is slow moving hurricane of a song. If you sip on Hot Toddys he's got a song for that too, with an amazing arrangement / ending.
